After a Death: An Activity Book For Children
By The Dougy Center
I love all the books that come out of The Dougy Center! They are one of the first family/child grief centers in the country and they do astounding work! I highly recommend this book because it provides parents, teachers and caregivers a way to talk about a difficult subject.
Guiding Your Child Through Grief
By James P. Emswiler & Mary Ann Emswiler
This is still my most favorite book for parents, teachers and caregivers of children who are grieving the death of a loved one. This book covers almost every single topic about grief and it gives a ton of practical tips. I can’t emphasize enough how great I think this book is and I believe it is a must-have on every home self.
When Someone Very Special Dies
By Marge Heegaard
This is a wonderful resource for parents, teachers, caregivers of children who are grieving the death of a loved one. It is easy to use, with questions to ask the children and lots of space for them to write or draw. I have used this book several times with grieving children and I highly recommend it.
